Sergeant Henry McAllister

End of Watch (EOW): May 21, 1895

On May 21, 1895 Sergeant Henry McAllister was on duty working for the Manchester Police Department. As a supervisor he had just left the shift commander’s office to conduct roll call for the on-coming shift.

Upon entering the roll call room Sergeant McAllister found another officer talking to Fred Stockwell, who had recently resigned from the Manchester Police Department amid personnel charges that were about to be brought forward by Sergeant McAllister. It was reported that the conversation between Sergeant McAllister and Stockwell became quite contentious, when Stockwell suddenly drew a revolver he had hidden on himself and shot Sergeant McAllister at close range killing him instantly.

At the time of his death, Sergeant McAllister was a three year veteran with the Manchester Police Department.
